Get up and running with Lumenare Search in minutes.
Installation
- Upload and Activate
- Upload the
lumenare-searchfolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- Initial Configuration
- Go to Settings > Lumenare Search
- Ensure “Enable Plugin” is checked
- Configure basic settings:
- Search placeholder text
- Minimum characters (default: 3)
- Post types to search
- Build the Index
- Navigate to the Index Management tab
- Click “Reindex All Content”
- Wait for indexing to complete (runs in batches for large sites)
That’s it! Your search is now enhanced with Lumenare Search.
Basic Configuration
General Settings
Enable Plugin: Turn the plugin on/off globally
Search Placeholder: Text shown in the search input field
Minimum Characters: Number of characters required before search triggers (recommended: 3)
Post Types to Search: Select which post types to include in search results
Search Quality Settings
Keyword Match Mode:
- Any (OR): Results contain at least one keyword (broader results) – Recommended for most sites
- All (AND): Results must contain all keywords (precise results)
Stop Words: Common words to exclude from indexing (one per line)
Synonyms: Groups of equivalent words (one group per line, comma-separated)
Fuzzy Matching: Enable typo tolerance (recommended: enabled)
Display Settings
Results Per Page: Number of results on search results page (default: 10)
Dropdown Results: Number of results in live search dropdown (default: 10)
Enable Search Term Highlighting: Highlight matching terms in results (recommended: enabled)
Using the Search
Automatic Integration
Lumenare Search automatically replaces:
- Default WordPress search forms
- Gutenberg Search blocks
- Theme search forms
No additional configuration needed!

Add search form anywhere with:

Widget
Add the “Lumenare Search” widget to any widget area:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets
- Add “Lumenare Search” widget
